Real Friends vs. Fake Friends

There was a time in my life when it really bothered me to have so called friends smiling in my face, then talking about me behind my back; and the worst part of it is when one of them decides to bring that shit back to me.

I was not as mindful about my friendships. I focused more on trying to make myself fit into the friendship rather than finding friends that was a good fit for me.

Like any good relationship, a solid friendship requires effort and commitment from both people. It is not enough to say the words…this is my friend; I have to be the kind of real friend that I want others to be toward me.

Honestly… it’s hard to know if a friend is sincere and trustworthy. If I had , maybe I could have avoided some painful relationships.  I now know, that time and emotional maturity can help anyone learn how to be a better friend and a better “friend picker.”

Any friendship that consistently shows negative signs is emotionally draining. Just because a person smiles in your face, it doesn’t mean that person is a friend.

If the fake friend will not listen to your concerns and is defensive when you talk about your needs and boundaries, it is time to let go. Life is too short to hang onto a fake friendship that can turn into a toxic relationship.

Never think or talk lack. for in so doing you are decreeing lack, and lack-thoughts create a condition of lack. Stress thoughts of plenty.
