A Setback…Turn In 2 Success!

Setbacks
The comeback is always stronger than the setback

A setback is a failure, an obstacle, something that knocks us back and keeps us from moving forward.

Also, setbacks can be extremely helpful for our growth and development as individuals if we choose to look at them accurately.

For instance, many successful people in history had various setbacks in life and career because they made them stronger and wiser.

 Consider these examples:

  • Thomas Edison failed 10,000 times before he came up with the light bulb; In response to a question about his missteps, Edison once said, “I have not failed 10,000 times—I’ve successfully found 10,000 ways that will not work.”

  • Henry Ford  Optimism Ford’s path to building his car for the multitudes had many curves and hills, not to mention detours and dead ends. The Story of a Bold Dreamer.
  • In the early 1900s, “No man of money even imagined it as an option,” said Henry Ford about his lackluster initial reception from investors and banks when he tried selling them the new idea called automobiles…
  • Thomas Edison and others promoted the idea of electric cars, but Ford believed in the gas-powered internal combustion engine. And he failed twice before he finally started Ford Motor Company in 1903.
  • Walt Disney was fired from an advertising agency because he wasn’t creative enough; In 1919, Disney was fired from one of his first animation jobs at the Kansas City Star newspaper; the editor felt he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas,” according to The Wisdom of Oz.
  • That wasn’t the last of his failures. Disney then acquired Laugh-O-Gram, an animation studio he later drove into bankruptcy. Finally, he decided to set his sights on a more profitable area: Hollywood.
  • Colonel Harland Sanders: in the early 1920s, he became the top salesman in Kentucky and was fired because of his temper.
  • Time magazine reports that he was fired from dozens more jobs before closing his first restaurant and going broke at age 65.
  • He was reportedly fired from two separate railroad jobs, once for insubordination, the other for fighting a colleague, and as a country lawyer after assaulting his client.
  • It wasn’t until 1964, when Sanders was 74, that the Colonel had more than 600 franchised outlets for his chicken, and he sold his interest in the company for $2 million to a group of investors, according to Biography.com.
  • Oprah Winfrey: was fired from her evening news reporter gig with Baltimore’s WJZ-TV. A Baltimore TV producer reportedly told her she was “unfit for television news;” she got too emotionally invested in her stories.
  • As a consolation, he offered her a role on a daytime TV show and People Are Talking.
  • According to Biography.com, the show became a hit, and Winfrey stayed for eight years, according to Biography.com.
  • Winfrey eventually became the host of The Oprah Winfrey Show, which aired for 25 seasons. She’s currently worth an estimated $3 billion, according to Forbes.

Although these experiences may have felt like failures at the time, they were setbacks that ultimately helped these individuals become stronger and more successful.

The Importance of Setbacks!

Delays are almost always considered negative experiences, especially when they are large or unexpected events.

However, if we look a little deeper, we’ll see that the importance of setbacks can be extremely significant.

For example, a setback can help you

  • Develop self-awareness and self-confidence.
  • – Realize what does and does not work for you.
  • – Regain control of your life when it feels out of control.
  • – Learn from your mistakes.
  •  – Become more resilient and flexible as an individual. – Grow as a person and become stronger.
  • – Find new opportunities that you otherwise never would have found.

How to Make the Most Out of Setbacks!

There are many ways to make the most out of the setback experience.

The first thing you need to do is to accept your setback as an inevitable part of life.

Even though this may sound a bit odd, especially if you’re currently experiencing a setback, it’s extremely important to realize that setbacks happen to everyone.

As you get used to setbacks, it becomes easier to accept and deal with them as they come. Another thing that you should do is to try to find a silver lining in your setback.

It would be extremely helpful for your mental health and helps to see the setback in a positive light, which can make it easier to deal with.

The Struggle Is Real…But So Is Hope!

Setbacks can be extremely tough, especially if they are large or unexpected events that completely change your life.

It can be incredibly hard to deal with the emotions that come with a setback, especially if it is something that you never saw coming.

For many people, the emotions that can come with a setback can almost feel like a dark cloud that hangs over your head and doesn’t let go.

It can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when you are completely submerged in sadness and despair.

However, it is extremely important to remember that the struggle you are experiencing is real, but so is hope.

How to Get Back Up When You’re Falling!

One of the most important things to remember if you are experiencing a setback is that failing is inevitable, but getting back up is optional.

As a matter of fact, it’s easy to tell yourself that you failed and that you will never be able to recover from that.

However, it is important to remember that every time you fail, you have the option to get back up again, and you can come out of the situation stronger than before.

Conclusion

Life always has the potential to throw us obstacles and setbacks.

There are many ways we can look at these events for growth, whether by using them as an opportunity or just getting back up after being knocked down once again!

The landlocked States Of The United States…Part 1

Landlock statesAlmost everyone knows about the fifty states that make up the United States of America. But did you know some are landlocked?

Better yet, do you know which states are landlocked? If you’re like most Americans, you probably don’t.

In fact, I didn’t know until I did some research for this post. So today, we’re going to take a closer look at the landlocked states of the United States.

What is the meaning of contiguous landlock states?

It means these states are inland and have no direct access to an ocean, gulf, or bay. That is, the territorial boundary does not touch an ocean or whose coastline lies on an enclosed water body with no connection to the world’s oceans.

How many states are in the United States an

The United States is a unique country...the mainland consists of 27 landlocked states…

What’s more, a single landlocked state is one whose access to the Ocean is blocked by one other state. Sixteen states and the District of Columbia are categorized as single landlocked states.

The US Landlocked States

In the Southwestern region, Arizona is bordered by

  • Utah,
  • Colorado,
  • New Mexico,
  • Nevada,
  • California,
  • the Mexican states of Baja, California, and Sonora.
  • You can access the Pacific coast from Arizona by crossing California or the Gulf of California through Sonora.

Arkansas is located in the South Central region. It is bordered by six other US states and can only access the Gulf of Mexico (part of the Atlantic Ocean) through…

  • Texas,
  • Louisiana, or Mississippi.
  • Other states bordering Arkansas are Missouri, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.

Idaho is bounded…

  • north by Montana,
  • east by Wyoming, and
  • northwest by British Columbia (Canada).
  • There are several alternatives to accessing the Pacific;
  • It can access the Ocean…
  • to the west through either Oregon or Washington
  • or to the north through British Columbia.
  • Oregon and Washington offer the easiest access to the Pacific as they do not involve crossing international borders.

Kentucky, bordering

Tennessee is landlocked to the north, with residents accessing the Atlantic Ocean through Virginia.

Michigan, located above Ohio, is also a landlocked state, with access to the Arctic Ocean (James Bay) through Ontario.

However, it is located on the shores of four Great Lakes; Huron, Erie, Superior, and Michigan.

Minnesota borders one of the Great Lakes (Lake Superior), a landlocked state with access to either James Bay through Ontario or Hudson Bay through Manitoba.

Montana, which shares a land border with Idaho, is also a landlocked state, with access to the Pacific Ocean via British Columbia.

Nevada borders Arizona to the northwest and can also access the Pacific Ocean through California on the west or Oregon on the northwest.

New Mexico is a landlocked state and Arizona’s immediate neighbor to the east. However, it is connected to either the Pacific Ocean (Gulf of California) through Texas or the Atlantic Ocean (Gulf of Mexico) through Sonora (Sonora).

North Dakota is sandwiched between Montana to the west and Minnesota to the east.

Below it is South Dakota, and above is Manitoba (Canada), meaning that it has no direct access to the Ocean.

However, it can access the Arctic Ocean’s Hudson Bay through Manitoba.

Although Ohio has access to the Atlantic Ocean via Lake Erie and St. Lawrence Seaway, it is still a d landlocked state, separated from James Bay by Ontario.

Oklahoma is also a landlocked state in the region and can only access the Gulf of Mexico through Texas.

Pennsylvania can access the Atlantic Ocean through

  • New Jersey,
  • New York,
  • Delaware,
  • or Maryland.
  • Alternatively, its access route to James Bay passes through the Canadian province of Ontario.

Tennessee is one of the states with the most neighbors in the US. It is surrounded by up to eight other states and accesses the Atlantic Ocean through…

  • Georgia,
  • Virginia,
  • North Caroline,
  • or the Gulf of Mexico through Mississippi or Alabama.

Vermont, a landlocked state in the New England Region, is enclosed by…

Vermont
Vermont

  • New York
  • New Hampshire,
  • Massachusetts, and Quebec (Canada). It can access the Atlantic Ocean through the three states or the Canadian Province. It can also access James Bay(Arctic Ocean) through Quebec.
  • West Virginia is a landlocked state bordered by other landlocked states…on the north (Pennsylvania),
  • west (Ohio),
  • and southwest (Kentucky).
  •  It can access the Atlantic Ocean either
  •  through Virginia
  • on the east or
  • Maryland on the northeast.

Conclusion

I’m sure there are many other interesting facts about the United States that I could share, but I’ll leave you with this one.

Out of all 50 states, 27 are landlocked and have to go through at least one other state to get to an ocean.

It’s pretty fascinating when you think about it. If you’re curious about any other 27 states or want to know more about landlocking, be sure to subscribe, so you don’t miss future posts, Part 2!

Mistakes

Mistakes: …What They Taught Me! What I Learned!

Mistakes are great teachers. Everyone makes mistakes, but what’s important is how you respond to them.

More importantly, learning from them and growing from them signifies…

  •  maturity,
  •  self-awareness,
  •  and authenticity.

In fact, life has taught me never to make the same mistake again or feel afraid to try because of it.

I learned not to look at them as negative experiences because of stress and anxiety; for personal growth and advancement; instead, they are opportunities.

For the most part, it isn’t something to be ashamed of; rather, it’s an opportunity to learn so that it won’t happen again.

As I have said, You can’t learn without blundering first; and you certainly can’t grow as a person without challenging yourself by trying new things and experimenting with different ideas, attitudes, and actions.

It’s okay to make mistakes.

Some seem to forget that no one is perfect, and we are all human, so don’t stress out if you make a mistake; Instead, use it as an opportunity to grow and improve.

Also, It is important to know that people have different reactions to making blunders; Some people are harder on themselves when they make mistakes, while others don’t even realize they made one.

All the more reason, if you should not beat yourself up or be hard on yourself for being human, you make a mistake, try to step back and think about why you made that mistake in the first place.

  •  Maybe you were tired and didn’t think as clearly as you normally would,
  •  Or you were in a rush and didn’t take the time you normally do, and so on. Mistakes help us learn and grow.
  • We all make mistakes, but how we respond to them matters more.
Sunrise over misty landscape with two trees, herd of cows grazing underneath.

Dwelling on our mistakes is counterproductive.

Dwelling on mistakes is counterproductive…

  • It keeps you zeroed in on what we are most unhappy about; without bringing any resolution to the situation.
  •  You may feel ashamed or guilty about it, preventing you from moving past the mistakes and growing due to them.
  • Also, it can harm your mental health. Stress and anxiety over mistakes can cause you to feel overwhelmed and depressed.
  1. Mistakes are a sign of learning and growth.

In reality, mistakes show that you are authentic, not perfect. They also indicate that you’ve tried new things and thrown caution into the wind.

Mistakes

Making mistakes shows how much you care about being your true self, even if it didn’t work out as planned!

Living an authentic life is better than pretending to be someone you’re not. If mistakes show your true self, what’s wrong with being honest and trying new things?

Three ways to respond to mistakes.

1. Accept mistakes as a normal part of life:

Remind yourself that mistakes are normal and not something to feel guilty or ashamed about. They are something that we all go through because we are all human!

2 . After all, no one is perfect:

So if you make a mistake, it’s important to not dwell on it; remain open to the idea that you can learn from it and grow from the experience.

3. Bottom line…dwelling on the mistake will do you no good:

So let go of any shame or guilt you may be feeling and move on with your life.

Conclusion

Mistakes are often seen as a bad thing, but they can be great opportunities for personal growth.

In as much as we are human, we are not perfect. It is in your best interest to be open to learning from your blunders and grow from the experience.

In short, it is important to remember that everyone blunders, and it is okay to make them. If anyone hints at being perfect…that would be nothing but Bullshit!

Give yourself a break. Stop beating yourself up! Everyone makes mistakes and has setbacks and failures. You don’t come with a book on how to get it right all the time. You will sometimes fail, not because you planned to, but simply because you’re human. Failure is a part of creating a great life. Stand up to it and handle it with grace because you can.

Comfort Zone… You Need to Step Outside!

The comfort zone is nothing else but a graveyard for your dreams & ideas.” -Anonymous

In the Comfort zone, you need to take that leap of faith and push yourself outside your comfort zone.

Comfort zoneWhy? Well, I have learned that there are many benefits in doing so- not only will it make life <span data-preserver-spaces=”true”>more exciting, and an experience worth having!

Although taking risks is scary, it’s necessary for growth. You can’t grow if you don’t step out of your comfort zone from time to time!

However, the best time is up in the air, but I’ve learned that there are moments when we need to take a chance… and exit the Comfort zone!

By leaving your comfort zone behind and taking a leap of faith into something new, you find out who you are truly capable of becoming.” -Anonymous

The Following tips for stepping outside your comfort bubble easily and effectively:

Be Intentional With Your Choices…Outside Of The Comfort zone!

The best way to have a happy, fulfilling life is by being intentional about your decisions.

It also involves clarifying our favorite memories, knowing which ones matter most! Lastly, it may seem hard at times, but these things can help prevent errors in judgment later down the road.

To do so, you must be clear on who and what kind of person you desire for your future self.

It means understanding everything from…

  • personal interests,
  • family values, goals;
  • lifestyle preferences
  • spending time with family and friends
  • taking care of oneself;
  • romantic orientation,
  •  and whether you prefer femininity over masculinity.

See, Life is all about making decisions and choosing who you are. Instead of doing what society expects you to do, you’ll be doing what you want to do. (Get out of your comfort zone!)

You’ll live the life you want, not the one others expect you to live.

Don’t allow fear to consume you...Feel the fear and do it anyway.” -Anonymous

One of the biggest reasons people stay inside their comfort zones is that they fear what will happen if they step outside.

You fear that you won’t be able to accomplish your goals or will fail. Or it could be that you are afraid of not being able to perform as well as you would in your comfort zone.

Often, fear consumes you, making it difficult to do anything outside your comfort zone. You don’t have to fall victim to this fear, though.

You can rise above it and overcome it by taking some deep breaths. Or by doing something that makes you happy and getting your mind off of the things that have you feeling anxious and stressed out.

I’m not telling you it’s going to be easy; I’m telling you it’s going to be worth it.” -Anonymous Quote

Be Bold …Try Something You’re Afraid To Do!

In contrast, we’re afraid of many things, whether public speaking, asking someone out, or taking a new route to work.

Whether you know it or not…the best way to step outside your comfort bubble is to try something you’re afraid of.

It’s a great way to test your boundaries and give you an idea of what it feels like to be https://jusmeetwo.com/failure-is-an-opportunity-to-succeed/outside your comfort zone.

You may even find that you can do things you thought you were incapable of. What matters most is just doing it!

If you get the heebie-jeebies…shake it off and get to stepping!

Once you’ve tried something outside your comfort zone, you may notice less afraid of it. You may also realize that it’s not as bad as you thought it would be and wasn’t that bad at all.

Make small changes that lead to big results

Another great way to step outside your comfort zone is to make small changes that lead to large results.

Start small, then work your way up as you become more comfortable with the idea of stepping outside your comfort zone.

Take action immediatelyWhen was the last time you did something for the first time.” -Anonymous

One of the best ways to step outside your comfort zone is to take action immediately.

If not, you’ll let your mind convince you that you can’t do it and talk yourself out.

So, refuse to delay; instead, take action immediately and don’t let yourself psych yourself out.

There is no doubt; If you let it sit in your mind too long, you’ll psych yourself out and never do it.

When…Now is always the right time!

Nevertheless, another way to step outside your comfort zone is to remind yourself that now is always the right time.

It’s always the right time to ask someone out or make a big change in your life.

Now is always the right time to do something to make you a better person.

Instead of when you feel ready, stepping outside your comfort zone and doing these things now will make you a better person, no matter what happens.

By leaving your comfort zone behind and taking a leap of faith into something new, you find out who you are truly capable of becoming.” -Anonymous

Feel the fear and do it anyway.” -Anonymous

Final note

Remember stepping outside your comfort zone is important for growth. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but that’s okay. Being uncomfortable is the only way to grow.

The more you step outside your comfort zone, the more you’ll grow as a person and the more you’ll be able to achieve anything.

The future

The Future! We live in a world where we can’t predict how our lives will change five years from now, let alone fifty or one hundred!

The future

Right now, in this very instant – it feels brand new! The unknown and unknowable perspectives of the future.

That said ..recent history with all its modernities …there are still bits and pieces worth holding onto tightly and worth fighting for – even if there are by no means guarantees or certainties!

But, what will the next life-changing decade have in store for us? Will there always be sensational opportunities waiting just around every corner? Or could be teetering on the brink of adversity, or not!

The future…Make the Most of the Time You Have!

The future
Spring Time Change Background with alarm clock and flower branches
The future is uncertain and unpredictable. There’s no way to know what will happen ; so it’s important to make the most of the time you have now.

On the contrary, we don’t know when our time on Earth will end, so we should try our best to make a positive difference while we’re here.

We can do this by making healthy choices and helping others. We can also make the most of the time we have now by being grateful for what we have.

Live and breathe what you love!

Life will change and evolve as we get older, and we’ll probably have different jobs, interests, and even family.  For that reason, we can make the future better by devoting ourselves to things we love now and devoting our lives to things we love in the future. We can also make the future better by being grateful for what we have.

Don’t be afraid to try new things!

Help Others

Change is the only constant in life, and the future will be full of it. Meantime, we can enhance our lives by helping some one else.  Even if, helping others is difficult and even if that means taking on some risks or challenging tasks for them as well!

It can also be rewarding…

Be Grateful for what you have

We can make the future better by being grateful for all that’s before us- from what’s visible or tangible like money & material goods;

Things that may not seem important at first glances, such as relationships with people around you or family members.

Being thankful creates an impactful awareness within ourselves about how lucky we are.

Conclusion

The future is full of change, possibilities, and uncertainty. But, there are things we can do to make it better; by making the most of the time we have now, trying new things, and helping others.

We can also be grateful for what we have and make the most of what we have. The future is full of change, but these tips can be made better.
