Acrimonious Words: In The English Language!

Acrimonious Words

Acrimonious Words filled the English language begging to be used in an argument; many of these words are associated with negative emotions, such as anger, hatred, and hostility.

Nonetheless, these words are often used in everyday speech to express our frustration and have the potential to start arguments and incite strong emotions.

Anyway…

The Oxford English Dictionary defines acrimonious as “stinging, sharp, or bitter in speech or temper.”

In other words, these are words that are bound to start an argument.

That said…here are a few of the most acrimonious words in the English language…

1. Feminist

Most often, the word feminist describes an angry, militant, man-hating…Female. But the truth is, being a feminist means believing in equality regardless of gender.

So if you believe in equality, congratulations! You’re a feminist! (And there’s nothing wrong with that!)

In fact, it’s something to be proud of.

2. Sniveling

The English language is full of words begging to be used scathingly. “Sniveling” is one of those words.

It’s perfect for describing someone who is always complaining and moaning. And it’s just the right amount of meanness to use when trying to be passive-aggressive.

So next time someone gets on your nerves, tell them to stop being such a sniveling little bellyacher!

Then again…it’s the perfect modus operandi to let them know you’re fed up with their crap and calling out their bullshit!

3. Boorish

Unfortunately, boorishness is the state of being rude, insulting, and offensive

In essence, it’s the quality of being a bad-tempered individual; it’s something that no one wants to be accused of.

Remember, it’s probably not a compliment if you’re called boorish. And it’s definitely not something you want to be known for.

So if you want to avoid being called boorish, here are a few things you should do:

-Be polite and respectful to others

-Avoid making crude jokes or comments

-keep your temper in check

-Don’t be a know-it-all

Following these tips, you can avoid being boorish and ensure you’re always on your best behavior!!!

4. Rancorous

Now…if you’re looking for a word to describe someone who is always angry and full of resentment, then the perfect word for you is “rancorous.”

The word comes from the Latin word for “rancor,” which means “bitterness or “hatred.”

When you describe someone as rancorous, you say they are characterized by bitterness and anger.

Generally speaking, rancorous people are usually pretty unreasonable. They can’t see their faults, and they tend to hold grudges.

And so, If you’re feeling rancorous, you probably hate the person you’re mad at.

So, the next time you want to describe someone as being angry and resentful, go ahead and use the word rancorous.

They’ll be sure to get the message!”

Or

In the meantime, if you’re feeling rancorous, take a step back and see the situation from the other person’s perspective.

You might find that your anger is misplaced!

5. Jihad

Jihad is often considered a holy war by Muslims against infidels. But the word has a much broader meaning.

Jihad can be defined as a “struggle.” It is a struggle to live a good life, do what is right, and resist temptation.

Muslims are not the only ones who wage jihad. Everyone struggles against something in their life.

For some, it is a struggle to quit smoking or to lose weight. For others, it is a struggle to overcome depression or to keep their faith.

No matter what your jihad is, remember that you are not alone. We all have struggles in our lives.

But by working hard and staying focused, we can overcome anything.

6. Terrorism (speaks for itself!)

Terrorism is a serious problem that often ends in violence and death. But it can also be a source of amusement, depending on how you view it.

For example, consider the word “terrorism.” It’s a pretty acrimonious word, but it’s also funny when you think about it in this sense…

The Universe says, “Hey, I can be random and unpredictable, but I can also be really scary and dangerous.”

So next time you’re feeling down about the state of the world, remember that even the Universe has a sense of humor.

And who knows, maybe one day we’ll all look back on this dark prehistory and laugh about it.

7. “Invective

In contrast, Invective is a word that describes a speech or writing that is full of harsh, insulting, and abusive language.

Also, it is a harsh or bitter personal attack directed toward a particular person or group; it can be seen as a form of bullying, and it’s not the best way to win an argument.

But sometimes, it can be very satisfying to let loose with a good dose of abuse in the heat of the moment.

On the other hand, it’s the perfect word to describe that angry email you just wrote to your boss.

Anyway…Invective can be used as a noun or an adjective, and it’s sure to make your listener’s hair stand on end.

A word of caution… be prepared for the consequences!

Conclusion

All things considered, acrimonious is a synonym for

The wording in the English language is a great way to end an argument, not to mention there are many words related to acrimonious such as…

These words guarantee you’ll never win an argument; if you’re looking for a way to annoy someone, try using all ten of them in a single sentence.

Meanwhile, if you want to stay on good terms with your friends and family, it’s best to avoid them.

The Gangsta-Thug Narrative: Who’s affected…2?

The Gangsta-thug …image and enthusiastic embrace of society’s stereotypes are the most pressing problem facing African-American males.

When they see you, it’s shameful that the hue of your skin defines who you are in the eyes of the world; (the police)for sure. (You are an abomination!)

And so…the rules of law don’t immediately pertain to you.

In most atrocious ways, you are guilty until proven innocent. Then again, that part…until proven innocent never comes into play.

Gangsta-thug

Why? Because you fit the Gangsta-thug narrative! Therefore, there is no need to look elsewhere for the guilty other.

Perhaps, some of you have spent years in prison for a crime you never committed. In short, thirty years later, DNA provesYOU WERE INNOCENT!

But…in the eyes of the prosecutor…

You were seen as suspicious. People distrust you because your black or brown skin and foreign accent make you difficult to understand.

So you are guilty as charged…the DNA lied!

It’s a shame…no matter how hard you work, you will never be given the same opportunities as your white counterparts.

For the most part, if you are from another country, you are a second-class citizen, and if you are black…you are a Gangsta Thug!

This blog post explores how words such as thug, thuggery, and thuggish are biased to stereotype Black people and other minorities based solely on their appearance or origin…rather than any real evidence of threatening behavior.

Disgraced President: Never Deserved It !

Disgraced…When President Trump was elected, many people were shocked. How could someone with little experience and so many controversies surrounding him become the leader of the free world?

DISGRACED

Moreover, it’s hard to believe that it’s been almost four years since Donald Trump left the Oval Office as President.

Yet, it feels like he was insulting our intelligence only yesterday, telling us that he would make America great again, and promising to drain the swamp.

And now, here we are. Trump is gone, and we are left a more divided country than ever.

Nonetheless, it’s clear that Trump was never fit to be President, and his election was a disaster for the United States

In this blog post, I’ll explore how President Trump was a disgrace to the office of the presidency.

How everything went wrong…

Generally speaking, from the beginning, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was marred by scandal and controversy.

From his remarks about Mexicans and Muslims to his boastful statements about sexual assault, Trump seemed to be constantly in the news for all the wrong reasons.

And as the campaign progressed, things only got worse. Trump was caught on tape making lewd comments about women and accused of corruption and conflicts of interest.

How Trump ruined America!

First and foremost, it’s hard to imagine how things could have gone any worse under Trump.

Almost as soon as he took office, Trump started to ruin America. He began by signing Executive Orders that took away people’s rights and protections.

Meanwhile, he began gutting environmental regulations and policies that had been put in place to protect the planet.

Last, Trump also began dismantling the Affordable Care Act, which had provided millions of Americans with access to quality healthcare.

Ultimately, in just two short years…

  • He managed to alienate our allies,
  • increase tensions with our adversaries,
  • And roll back progress on key issues like climate change and environmental protection.
  • In May 2018, disbanded, The NSC directorate pandemic response team
  • The top White House official responsible for leading the U.S. response in the event of a deadly pandemic has left the administration, and the global health security team he oversaw has been disbanded,” reported the Washington Post at the time.
  •  Trump and his allies — including then-NSC director John Bolton, who undertook the ill-fated move — have since tried to muddy the waters about these moves, emphasizing the fact that they merely reorganized the National Security Council rather than bluntly firing everybody involved in the pandemic response
  • On the last full day of Donald Trump’s presidency, the death toll reached 400,000 — a once-unthinkable number. Over the past five weeks, more than 100,000 Americans have perished in the Pandemic.
  • Not to mention the constant stream of scandals and controversies that plagued his administration from the beginning.

How was Trump a terrible president?

When Donald Trump was elected as the 45th president of the United States, many people were hopeful that he would be a good leader.

Unfortunately, Trump turned out to be a horrible president.

He made racist and sexist remarks, lied to the American people, and was impeached; however, he should have been removed from office.

Subsequently, Trump divided the country and has shown that he is not fit to be President. It’s hard to find any good things to say about Trump’s presidency.

After all, he is a racist, a sexist, and a liar. He ruined relationships with key allies and made a mockery of the office he held.

How was Trump a disgrace to the office?

Donald Trump will go down in history as one of the greatest disgraces to ever hold the office of President of the United States.

DISGRACED

Ultimately, Trump’s legacy will be bigotry, greed, and selfishness.

He will be remembered as a man who cares for no one but himself, and his presidency will be remembered as one of the darkest times in history.

During his time in office, he did everything he could to disgrace the office of the presidency.

He lied to the American people, obstructed justice, and showed no respect for the rule of law.

And…he was impeached twice.

Will Trump ever be forgotten? (No…for good reasons!)

When it comes to Donald Trump, history will not be kind. To illustrate, he will be remembered…

  • As a racist, a sexist, and a liar.
  • For his divisiveness
  • and contempt for the rule of law.
  • He will be remembered for his destruction of American democracy.
  •
  • And that’s just the start. Trump will also be remembered for his complete and utter failure as President.
  • He will be remembered for the millions of Americans who lost their health insurance under his watch.
  • Also, he will be remembered for the families separated at the border.
  • He will be remembered for the corruption and the scandals.
  • And the death toll from the Pandemic.

In short, Donald Trump will be remembered as one of the worst Presidents in American history

And that’s something that he will never be able to escape.

Trump’s policy failures…

Donald Trump’s policies have been an abject failure…from the Muslim ban to the repeal of DACA.

Trump has shown time and time again that he is not fit to lead this country. His policies have made us less safe, less free, and less prosperous. He is gone and should never be able to return.

Trump’s many scandals.

There’s no shortage of Trump scandals these days, whether it’s his involvement with Russia, his taxes, The January 6 insurrection, or his sexual assault allegations.

The list goes on and on!

Trump is a racist…

There is no denying that Donald Trump is a racist. He has repeatedly made derogatory and discriminatory remarks about minorities, from Mexicans to Muslims to African Americans.

Trump is a sexist.

Trump is a sexist. We all watched the tape where it was bragging about groping women, accused of sexual assault by many women, and has a long history of making sexist comments about women.

Trump is not a man who should be anywhere near the White House.

Trump is a liar.

Ironically, no one can deny that Donald Trump is a liar. He has lied about his involvement with Russia, his taxes, the size of his inauguration crowd, and his involvement with Stormy Daniels.

In fact, according to The Washington Post, Trump lied or made false statements more than 10,000 times during his time in office.

Whether you agree with his policies or not, there’s no denying that Trump is a liar. And that’s not the kind of person we want in the White House.

Donald Trump is a traitor.

He has betrayed his country by colluding with the Russians to influence the 2016 election.

He is a traitor to the American people and should have been removed from office. Above all, he should be banned from holding any political office…(the President.)

In conclusion,

The former Disgraced President never deserved to become President in the first place. He was elected due to a combination of lies, deceit, and manipulation, and he has brought nothing but shame and disgrace to the office.

If we want to prevent this from happening again, we need to be more critical of the candidate we elect to become our leader.

Slavery

Slavery: A Stigma That Still Exists (Whites Turning a Blind Eye)!

Slavery

Slavery is a subject that many people (white) turn a blind eye to and refuse to admit that slavery even happens.

Why? Because it makes white people look bad for committing acts of inhumanity!

Let’s face it, America has always been very, very evil. By and large, America was built on the backs of Africans/African Americans to build family wealth in white families. For example…

The slave trade provided:

  • Political power.
  • Social standing and wealth for the church.
  • European nation-states.
  • New World colonies and individuals.

John Greenwood connects slavery and privilege through the image of a group of Rhode Island sea captains and merchants drinking at a tavern in the Dutch colony of Surinam, a trade hub.

The Trade Commodities …

These men made money by trading the commodities produced by slavery globally — among the North American colonies, the Caribbean, and South America — allowing them to secure political positions and determine the nation’s fate.

Let’s take a look at where it all began…

Hundreds of thousands of Africans, both free and enslaved, aided the establishment and survival of colonies in the Americas and the New World.

However, many consider a significant starting point to slavery in America to be 1619, when the pirate The White Lion brought 20 enslaved African ashore in the British colony of JamestownVirginia

The crew had seized the Africans from the Portuguese slave ship Sao Jao Bautista.

Beginning in…

1607: Jamestown, the first British North American settlement, was founded in Virginia.

1619: The first African Americans arrived in Jamestown, Virginia, on August 22, 1619.

Africans were captured near the Senegal River and sold to English settlers.

As the colony lacked laborers, these enslaved Africans were put to work growing tobacco, mostly under terrible conditions.

The 1620 census of Virginia records 32 Africans living in Virginia, 17 women and 15 men, listed as “in service of the English” and “in ye service of several[sic] planters.”

This census also lists four Indians laboring in the service of English planters.

A 1624 muster of Virginia’s inhabitants lists some Africans by name, including a woman named Angelo, listed as having arrived on the Treasurer

1640: Virginia courts sentenced a black run-away servant, John Punch, to “serve his said master . . . for the rest of his natural life.”

1660: Virginia law enacted on white people running away with negroes. (White people running away with slaves)

1662: Virginia law enacted on: Run-aways.

1662: Virginia law enacted: Negro women’s children to serve according to the mother’s condition. (If the mother is a slave, the child is a slave)

Slave/Blackcodes

By the early 1700s, the Virginia Assembly had passed a set of Black Codes, or slave laws, which institutionalized life-long slaveryand stipulated that offspring of a female inherited their enslaved status from their mothers.

And if any Christian commits fornication(have sex) with a negro man or woman, he or she so offending shall pay double the fines imposed by the former act.

1667: Virginia law was enacted, declaring that slaves’ baptism did not exempt them from bondage.

WHEREAS some doubts have arisen whether children that are slaves by birth, and by the charity and holiness of their owners, made partakers of the blessed sacrament of baptism, should by their baptism be made free;

It is enacted and declared by this grand assembly, and the authority thereof, that the conferring of baptism doth not alter the condition of the person as to his bondage or freedom;

That diverse master, freed from this doubt, may more carefully endeavor the propagation

Before the American Revolution,

More enslaved people existed in British North America than anywhere else. Of course, slavery existed throughout history and was practiced by many cultures worldwide.

However, Europeans took slavery to a new level when they began to capture and enslave Africans for profit.

These conditions led to a slave trade market in Europe and its colonies.

Relying on plantations as their primary source of income, Virginia colonists came to own nearly 25% of all slaves in North America.

1710: Slave Codes Are Enforced

In 1710, Virginia passed laws that strictly regulated slaves and their owners.

The Slave Code of 1710 included laws regarding punishment, manumission (the act of legally freeing a slave), and protecting slave owners’ rights to their property.

Soon after, the first manumission laws were passed in Virginia, allowing masters to free their slaves at their death.

In 1865, the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution officially abolished slavery in the United States. After hundreds of years, slavery in Virginia ended.

Conclusion

In today’s society, it’s not uncommon for lawmakers to whitewash history and rewrite the truth so that white people can feel better about their ancestors.

After all, it is said and done…the damage can’t be undone. It to damn late!

Mae Mallory: Civil Rights Activist -N-Self-Defense Advocate!

Mae mallory

Mae Mallory (June 9, 1927 – 2007)

Mae Mallory was a civil rights activist supporting armed self-defense and school integration.

Generally, she participated in demonstrations against the Vietnam War and the U.S. occupation of the Dominican.

And believed Black people are masters of their fate – militant forms of Black Power often associated with men.

To That end, she was a persistent advocate for self-defense and the voices of working-class black women in the fight for civil rights.

She became a civil rights activist early in her life and is best known for her involvement in the armed self-defense of African Americans.

Also, she argued that despite the ruling of Brown vs. Board of Education, the zoning policies of the NYC Board of Education essentially ensured that segregation in the city was still very much in place.

The Harlem  Nine

More importantly, she was the founder of the “Harlem 9,” a group of nine Black mothers formed to protest the inferior conditions of schools in New York City during the 1950s.

Consequently, Harlem nine was formed in 1956; their goal was to advocate for “open transfer” for their children, which would allow them to attend schools outside of their district.

For the most part, schools that weren’t suffering from overcrowding, dilapidating building, and inexperienced teachers.

As a result, the Harlem 9 took action against racism and discrimination in New York. Although they faced much opposition, these brave people made their voices heard:

  • They filed lawsuits against both city officials as well as state legislation for unfair treatment based on race or ethnic background;
  •
  • And boycotted businesses that refused service because it would cause too much trouble (such as restaurants).

Nonetheless, in the end, with a victory in the courts in 1960, Mae Mallory and the Harlem 9 won the right to transfer their children into white schools.

However, this was not enough for the NYC Board of Education, which admitted they had perpetuated “de facto” segregation in their boroughs, a huge step forward for education across all races.

Ms. Mallory supported numerous other civil rights initiatives, including work with Robert F. Williams and the NAACP during Freedom Rides in 1961.”

There she hosted SNCC student riders participating in Monroe, North Carolina.

Accusations of kidnapping

Despite allowing a white couple to hide out in her home to avoid danger from armed protestors, who had gathered in response to the Freedom Riders;

Mallory was accused of kidnapping the white couple.

Afterward…

Due in part to the fear of retaliation from the KKK, Mallory fled from North Carolina to Cleveland, Ohio, where she was captured after six weeks in hiding.

Conversely, while in prison, she worked to publicize her case and shed light on Black women’s experiences in America.

She advocated for separatism, socialism, and self-defense through speeches, letters, and press releases.

In 1964, she was deported back to North Carolina to stand trial for the kidnapping charge.

Although an all-white jury sentenced her to 16-20 years in prison, she was later acquitted in 1965 due to racial discrimination during the jury selection.

Conclusion

Mae Mallory was an incredible woman who fought for change until her last breath.

She is a prime example of what can be accomplished when we unite and fight for what’s right.

Mae Mallory continued her activism until she died in 2007.

We should all strive to be more like Mae Mallory and continue her legacy of activism and self-defense.
