There is a saying that says, “Behind every successful man is a successful woman.

It usually follows some historical figure who made an extraordinary impact on the world. 

In other words, while these men are remembered for their remarkable achievements, their feats would have been unimaginable without the support of women. 

Why? As privileged members of society, most of them could afford to devote their time and energy to intellectual pursuits. 

In addition, they had access to education that gave them the skills to create something original or discover something brand-new. 

However, in most cases, without women’s support in their lives, these men would not have been able to pursue their passions and accomplish so much.

How Women Helped Successful Men Achieve Their Goals?

It is well known that men and women are biologically different. Those differences are crucial for creating a society where each gender can succeed and support the other. 

One of the major ways women helped successful men accomplish their goals is by being responsible for running the household. 

This process takes a lot of time, effort, and energy that men cannot sustain. While women were busy keeping the home front straight, men were free to pursue passions such as philosophy, science, and politics.

Ada Lovelace And The Discovery Of Computer Science

An excellent example of how women boosted men’s achievements is the case of Charles Babbage and Ada Lovelace. 

At 17, Ada Lovelace met inventor and mathematician Charles Babbage.

She watched him demonstrate a model portion of his difference engine, an enormous mathematical calculating machine that has led to his being dubbed the “father of the computer.” 

After becoming Babbage’s protégé, she translated an article written by the military engineer—and future Italian prime minister—Luigi Menabrea about Babbage’s theoretical, analytical engine. 

Charles Babbage is credited with the founding of computer science, which led to the creation of modern computers. 

Behind Every Man Mary Shelley And Frankenstein

Another prominent example of the influence women had on men’s achievements is the case of Mary Shelley and Frankenstein.

Mary Shelley was an English novelist and short-story writer. She is best known as the author of Frankenstein.

The novel was first published in 1818.

Mary Shelley published it as a short story after the poet Lord Byron suggested that each member of a group of friends write a ghostly tale to keep themselves entertained.

Mary’s story was the obvious winner.

Susan B. Anthony and Women’s Right!

Moreover…another woman of influence… is the case of Susan B. Anthony and women’s rights.

She was an American social reformer and abolitionist. 

And played a pivotal role in the women’s suffrage movement, obtaining the right for women to vote in the United States. 

In addition,  Susan B. Anthony…was instrumental in creating the American Women’s Suffrage Association, which later became the National American Woman Suffrage Association. 

Eleanor Roosevelt And The Fight For Equality!Behind Every Man

Eleanor Roosevelt was a First Lady of the United States married to President Franklin D. Roosevelt. 

She became the first woman to hold a cabinet-level position when appointed as the Assistant Secretary of the Navy. 

Eleanor Roosevelt was a strong advocate for civil rights and women’s and children’s issues. She was heavily involved in the Democratic Party and was appointed as the United Nations’ first Special Representative for Human Rights.

 Eleanor Roosevelt worked closely with many male politicians who had different views on equality and other subjects. 

She used her influence to help influence the decisions of the men she worked with and pushed for laws that benefited women, minorities, and other marginalized people.

Conclusion

Behind every successful man is a talented woman. This saying is not just a poetic rhyme; it’s a fact.

Women have always played an integral part in the success of men, whether they know it or not. 

While men may have been the ones to receive the credit for their work, women were the ones who provided the support they needed to succeed. 

Men often forget that they are not alone in the world and couldn’t accomplish anything they did without help.

Women deserve to be recognized for their achievements, and they deserve to be recognized as equals!
