Another Blatant Act of Racism

Another Blatant act of Racism— Stephanie Rapkin, of Shorewood, in Milwaukee, an attorney showed up at a peaceful protest on N. Oakland Ave, parked her car across the road, blocking the march, over the past weekend.
Ditching the car in the middle of the street, she got out and walked up to demonstrators, where she was caught on camera shouting at them;
Meanwhile, when asked to move her car, Rapkin spits on Eric Patrick Lucas III, 17, who helped organize the rally.

Eyewitnesses were stunned.

There is no other way to put this–Stephanie Rapkins is a redneck racist. This is crazy as hell, and my question is, WHY? There is no way this kind of racist stupid.
As a lawyer, she knows that what he did was wrong, right about now, I am sure that she knows that a HUGH RISKY DECISION was made. Especially after being arrested “for spitting on a juvenile male during a verbal dispute.

Racism Must End

According to the Shorewood Police Department, they charged her with disorderly conduct and battery. Her bail was set at $950. and not jailed because of COVID19.
Then on Sunday, she was arrested again after allegedly pushing a student from Ithaca College. The student was with a group protesting in front of
Rapkin’s residence. Enraged, she came out and engaged in a verbal altercation with the protesters.
This time she physically shoved him with her hand in the chest, and then she proceeded to go back into her house where she should have remained in the first place.
Of course, someone called the police, and she was arrested for disorderly conduct and battery.
She allegedly “became physically resistive” when one of the officers tried to handcuff her.
While struggling during the arrested, she allegedly kneed one of the officers in the groin.
She was led by her elbows backward from her home to the car
She was taken to the Shorewood Police Department to finish being booked.
State Rep. David Bowen, who attended the protest, has called for Rapkin to be disbarred, the Journal Sentinel reports.
Unfortunately, this lady will more than likely will not be disbarred. Things never change for black and brown human being. Let Punishment Fit The Crime!!

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” -Barack Obama
“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” – Nelson Mandela

Let Punishment Fit The Crime!!

The Punishment: George Floyd died last week after a white cop refused to remove his knee from his neck keeping his airway blocked for nearly 9 minutes. This shocking incident was recorded by bystanders.
Allegedly he tried to pass a phony $20 bill before he died. No matter, those police officers could have handled this differently.
The head of the Minneapolis police union doesn’t care that a human life being taken away. Because he says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”

Bob Kroll –police union told his members in a letter–“the violent criminal history of George Floyd is not airing in the media.

What kind of BS is this?

Really–what kind of thinking is this. A child lost her father over this unnecessary police tactic. So what the Union chief is saying George Floyd deserved to die! Why? His criminal history.
He wants the protesters to know Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier. Before that, he had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs.
The man paid the price for his crimes and should not be further demeaned in the media because of it.
What’s more important is that white cop had every opportunity take his knee off the man neck–especially when he kept REPEATING “I CAN’T BREATHE.”

“I’ve worked with the four defense attorneys that are representing each of our four terminated individuals under criminal investigation, in addition to our labor attorneys to fight for their jobs.
They were terminated without due process,” Kroll wrote.
“This terrorist movement that is currently occurring was a long time build up which dates back years,” Kroll said in his letter of the protests, adding that some of his city’s issues exist because Minneapolis leaders have been “minimizing the size of our police force and diverting funds to community activists with an anti-police agenda.read more here

My take on the statement  above is:

The Police Union is full of corrupted members that want to use brutality as a means of defense against people committing crimes, no matter the nature of the offense.
Despite being caught on video–it seems as if they are going to continue brutalizing George Floyd by attempting to making what occurred justified.
Those cops deserved what they got–for not taking the appropriate actions in light of the situation. Floyd was down and handcuffed.
His death was a crime and the cops should be punished, just as Floyd was punished for his crimes.

Black Lives Matter

The Death of a 14 year old Black Boy

“Most middle-class whites have no idea what it feels like to be subjected to police who are routinely suspicious, rude, belligerent, and brutal.”
― Dr. Benjamin Spock
“We live in, arguably, the most developed, powerful country in the world, yet we are still unable to find a way to keep corrupt cops from killing black men. Why is that?”
― Carlos Wallace
“I know that it’s hard to believe that the people you look to for safety and security are the same people who are causing us so much harm. But I’m not lying and I’m not delusional. I am scared and I am hurting and we are dying. And I really, really need you to believe me.”

Floyd Report: Statistics And Facts

The video of the officers arresting George Floyd, a 46-year-old black man, after a deli employee called 911, accusing him of buying cigarettes with a counterfeit $20 bill.

Then seventeen minutes after the first squad car arrived at the scene, Mr. Floyd was unconscious under the knee of Chauvin. In contrast, three others stood by doing nothing.

As a result, the owner Of Store stated they won’t call the Police again in other similar circumstances. There is no reason for the death of George Floyd.

As we watch the video, it is evident that those police officers didn’t show any concern as George Floyd pleaded —saying, “I can’t breathe.” They just didn’t care.

Because of their non action George Floyd was dead within four minutes after he was held to the ground, according to the independent examiners.

Although, Chauvin has been charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter, these charges are not stiff enough to send a message to other overzealous cops. read more

FREDERICK AUGUSTUS WASHINGTON BAILEY

Frederick Augustus Washington BaileyPortrait of Frederick Douglass / Public domain

Approximately, two hundred and two years ago Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey was born into slavery in the state of Maryland.

In turn— as a slave, he didn’t know the exact month, day, and year of birth— due to the fact, people of color were considered property.

Simply put, he spent his entire life not knowing his actual birthday. So—he chose February 14th, 1818. At the same time laws prevented those born into slavery, from learning how to read or write.

Nevertheless—that didn’t stop him, none whatsoever! Because over time he taught himself to read.

In Short…

Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, (aka Frederick Douglas) wasn’t thrilled about being beat down for going against his master rules; so he decided to become a run away slave.

By and large being a fugitive slave—with no family, friends, or a place where he could feel free didn’t stop him. Simultaneously—He went from being a former slave—to becoming a prominent Abolitionist, speaker, author, and publisher.

That’s what I call resilience.

Facts —about Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey

  1. Started an anti -slavery news paper.

The North Star, later Frederick Douglass’ Paper, anti-slavery newspaper published by African American abolitionist Frederick Douglass.

The North Star, soon developed into one of the most influential African American anti-slavery publications of the pre-Civil War era.

The name of the newspaper paid homage to the fact that escaping slaves used the North Star in the night sky to guide them to freedom.

WRITTEN BY: The Editors of Encyclopaedia Britannica

Equally important is the fact that:

2. He wrote several autobiographies:

  • He described his experiences as a slave in his 1845 autobiography, Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, an American Slave.
  • My Bondage and My Freedom
  • Life and Times of Frederick Douglass, which covers events during and after the Civil War.

The Women’s Right Movement

Eventually —Frederick Douglass became so famous within the women’s rights movement, in 1872 he was nominated as running mate, and Vice President Candidate of the United States at the Equal Rights Party convention.

Meanwhile—in 1888, he received one vote from the Kentucky Delegation at the Republican Convention in Chicago.

As a result —he became the first African American to be nominated as a U.S. presidential candidate for a major political party.

Not to mention, becoming the first African American to be listed on a presidential election ballot.

Without question—Frederick Douglass is a prime example of how to overcome obstacles; a man that had a desire to learn, a longing to be a free man and the guts to take actions.

“I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong.”
