The Power of Our Words: Choosing to Build or Destroy!

The power of words
This is me in deep thought!

We’ve all experienced it: voicing frustrations about traffic, complaining about co-workers, or feeling let down by a missed chance. Whether you know it or not, complaining is as inherent as breathing and can often serve as a release.

However, as the proverb states, “Complaining is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but doesn’t take you anywhere.” All it does is generate anxiety and stress for those around you.

My purpose in weaving together my stories isn’t to create a platform for endless complaints. Instead, I view venting as a pivotal moment, an opportunity to confront our emotions and emerge as individuals who have grown and evolved.

We as humans are BROKEN!

Each story I share is a stepping stone toward clarity, encouraging reflection rather than merely expressing dissatisfaction.

For instance, we can either wield our words as weapons of destruction or use them to create connections and encourage positive change. This choice leads to personal growth and a sense of empowerment when made consistently.

It’s all about choices, and I’ve made mine clear: I choose to build bridges and foster positive change in the world around us—especially right now! In the 2024 election, you voiced dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s policies. I understand that you felt disappointed with specific outcomes, partly because you believed he wasn’t doing anything to help you.

So, you listened to words of destruction that compounded what you believed to be accurate and what you saw each time you went shopping for food.

You wanted relief…so you followed the negativity. What did you get from the promises made for your vote?

Hell on earth, I would say!

The Destructive Nature of Complaining

It’s essential to recognize that complaining can be a double-edged sword. Which can be seen as…

  • On one hand, it allows us to vent and express our frustrations.
  • Conversely, it can also lead to a cycle of negativity that impacts our well-being and the morale of those around us.

Look at the chaos your vote has created around the world. People, we are in for a bumpy ride. We are hated even more now and possibly unwelcome in other countries.

The bottom line is when we constantly complain without seeking solutions, we risk:

  1. Spreading negativity: Our words have the power to influence others, and persistent complaining can create a toxic environment.
  2. Undermining relationships: Complaints directed at others can erode trust and damage personal and professional relationships.
  3. Stagnating progress: Focusing on problems without seeking solutions can prevent you from moving forward and finding resolutions.

The Constructive Choice: Building Bridges and Positive Change!

Conversely, we can harness the energy behind our complaints and channel it into something productive. By choosing to approach our grievances constructively, we can:

  • Fostering empathy and understanding can help us connect with others more profoundly, fostering a sense of unity and compassion.
  • Encourage positive change: Complaints can lead to meaningful improvements and solutions when framed as constructive feedback.
  • Promote a positive environment: By focusing on solutions and maintaining a positive outlook, we can create a supportive and uplifting atmosphere.

    The power of words
    Be at peace with yourself!

In the grand scheme of things, we are profoundly shaped by the environment we grow up in, influenced by the lessons we learn as children. My own experiences resonate with this truth. Though my parents were physically present in our home, they often felt emotionally absent during our times of need, leaving us to navigate life‘s challenges independently.

Some of my siblings, like my brother David, struggled to break free from the shadows of our troubled upbringing. Recently, he passed away, leaving behind a poignant silence that speaks volumes about the life he lived. When he departed from this world, he did so alone, and we are left in anguish, wondering how long he had lain there, unseen and unheard, before being discovered.

David carried the weight of unresolved issues from our childhood and beyond, deep-seated wounds that festered over time. These struggles were not just personal; they were destructive forces that ultimately defined his journey. The impact of our past can be potent, shaping our paths in ways we often fail to understand until it’s too late.

In any case, our choices are solely our own and no one else’s. Here are some strategies I’ve discovered over the years to combat negativity.

Practical Steps to Turn Complaints into Positive Actions

1. Think before you speak: Consider whether your complaint is constructive or harmful. Try to find words that will encourage communication and problem-solving?

2. Use “I” statements: Instead of blaming others, express your feelings and concerns using “I” statements. For example, “I feel frustrated when…” rather than “You always…”

3. Presenting viable solutions involves articulating our concerns and actively addressing the issues. This approach creates a profound sense of empowerment. It encourages a proactive mindset, allowing us to transform challenges into opportunities for positive change.

4. Practice gratitude: I establish a foundation of gratitude by acknowledging the positive aspects of my life. This helps me to balance focus on positivity rather than negativity.

In conclusion,

It all comes down to this: complaining is a natural part of the human experience, but it doesn’t have to be a dead-end road.

Nevertheless, when we use our words constructively, we change the narrative. Our complaints become catalysts for positive change, bridge gaps, and create a more harmonious and uplifting environment for ourselves and those around us.

Simply put, the power is in our hands—or, more accurately, in our words.

My History Education…

David Walker (September 28, 1796 – August 6, 1830) was an influential American abolitionist, writer, and anti-slavery activist. Born to a free mother and an enslaved father, he was free himself due to the principle of partus sequitur ventrem.

In 1829, while residing in Boston, he published “An Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World,” which called for black unity and resistance against slavery.

His work highlighted the injustices of slavery and urged individuals to act according to their religious and political beliefs.

The pamphlet caused significant controversy, particularly in the South, leading to laws restricting the circulation of “seditious publications.” Walker’s advocacy for the rights of black individuals made him a prominent figure in the abolitionist movement.

His legacy continued through his son, Edward G. Walker, who became one of the first two black men elected to the Massachusetts State Legislature in 1866.

David Walker’s literary contributions were instrumental in forming the early abolitionist movement in the United States.

His passionate appeal for unity among black individuals and defiance against slavery struck a chord with many, including both black and white citizens, who opposed this institution.

Despite facing significant criticism and censorship, Walker remained a determined advocate for the rights and liberation of African Americans.

His legacy serves as both a reminder and a source of motivation for activists, as his writings poignantly highlight the ongoing struggle for racial equality and justice today.

While slavery may no longer be overtly visible in contemporary society, its remnants can still be detected within the MAGA movement.

This movement is actively working to reverse the significant advancements in the civil rights struggle throughout American history, jeopardizing the hard-won progress toward equality and justice.

The MAGA movement is actively trying to alter and reframe historical narratives by engaging in book banning, enacting legislation that undermines fundamental rights, and promoting an agenda that fosters deep divisions within the country—more pronounced than those experienced during the antebellum period.

For example, Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has been a vocal proponent of embracing Confederate ideals over those of democracy.

Meanwhile, President-Elect 47 appears to be working towards implementing policies that echo the principles of the Confederacy and or a dictatorship challenging the very foundations of democratic governance.

I would like to share a heartfelt appeal to our nation’s colored citizens. David Walker’s powerful words resonate deeply, emphasizing the crucial need to raise our voices against injustice and advocate for what is just and fair, even when confronted with significant challenges and opposition.

We should never allow ourselves to be muted by fear or indifference; instead, we must gather our courage, stand together as a united force, and passionately vocalize our convictions, ensuring that our messages resonate clearly and powerfully in the world around us.

Walker’s bold and unwavering actions in confronting his era’s entrenched social and political norms ignited essential conversations about the need for change. They carved a lasting and powerful legacy in American history.

His dedication to justice and equality resonated with others, inspiring future generations to challenge the status quo and work toward a more equitable society.

His steadfast commitment to racial equality is a powerful reminder of the ongoing journey toward justice and the relentless fight that continues today.

I don’t recall ever encountering the name David Walker in any history books or during my school years. Despite his significant contributions and impact, he has been overlooked in the narrative of our past.

Walker was a prominent abolitionist and a passionate advocate for African Americans’ rights, yet his story is often absent from discussions about the fight for freedom and equality.

It’s essential to recognize figures like him, who played a vital role in shaping history, rather than allowing their legacies to be buried and forgotten.

It’s very perplexing. You want to shield your children from the harsh realities of history by prohibiting any literature that reveals the painful and tragic events that were inflicted upon a marginalized group.

This includes banning books that discuss the systemic injustices, discrimination, and violence that shaped their experiences. You don’t want it taught in classrooms.

By restricting access, you aim to create a protective bubble, believing that ignorance will preserve their innocence and spare them from the weight of such brutal truths.

Truth be told… by doing so, you inadvertently deny them the opportunity to learn about the past, understand the complexities of human behavior, and empathize with others’ struggles.

In addition to shielding your children…you are complaining about rising food prices and inflation. You blame the current administration, which has done more for you than you may realize.

This attitude is a part of the problem. You need to take the time to think, educate yourself, or take responsibility for your actions and inactions.

The bottom line is that the atrocities of the incoming administration coming to you will be well-deserved.

I want to convey my frustration regarding your apparent lack of awareness. Your ignorance created an environment that subjects the rest of us to challenging and distressing situations, which we don’t deserve.

Your insensitivity has consequences for you, and it profoundly affects our lives as well. Your actions will create situations leading to unfair and unjust experiences for those around you.

I wish you were more mindful of how your actions impact others. A bit of insight could help prevent the unnecessary difficulties that will be inflicted upon us by the incoming want-to-be dictator you voted for.

In fact, the rest of us who didn’t vote for the dictatorship cannot afford to remain silent about the disturbing actions the incoming administration will take.

We must raise our voices and take a decisive stand against any injustices that may arise in our communities and beyond.

We must not allow these wrongs to go unchallenged. Our words and actions should resonate with conviction, reflecting our unwavering commitment to justice and equality.

Standing together, we can ensure that our collective determination illuminates the issues at hand and inspires change.

I want positive change, not a return to a time of unrest.

These beliefs shape my values and worldview. Everyone is entitled to their opinions and perspectives, and I respect that you may hold different views.

However, I would appreciate it if you could take a moment to reflect on my perspective. I intend not to persuade you to agree; I hope to foster understanding and meaningful dialogue.

Because…

Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.

BLACK HISTORY

The Tragic Reality: America’s Ban On Black History!

 Black History Month
Children with teacher preparing for Black History Month

It is nothing new that America–a country founded on the principles of equality and justice–has a history of banning books.

In fact, a quick Google search will reveal that this practice is alive and well in the 21st century.

More often than not, banned books deal with difficult topics such as race, gender, and sexuality.

One would think there would be no need to ban books in a country where library shelves are lined with books on these topics. However, the reality is that these books are often banned to silence voices that need to be heard.

This blog will explore the tragic reality of America’s ban on black history and its impact on the country.

The long, sad history of America’s ban on black history

Black History Month at school
Black History Month at school

In the early 1800s, America was a young nation struggling to find its identity. One of the things that made America unique was its diversity.

People from all over the world had come to America in search of a better life. This included people of African descent who were forcibly brought to America as slaves. ‘

Despite the contributions of black Americans to the country, they were treated as second-class citizens. They were denied basic rights and were subjected to racial discrimination.

This was especially true during the Jim Crow era when black Americans were discriminated against in every aspect of life.

It wasn’t until the Civil Rights Movement in the 1950s and 1960s that black Americans began to gain some of the rights they deserved.

Even so, black America continues to face challenges today. Racism is still a problem in America, and black Americans are still disproportionately affected by it.

In 2018, black Americans were 3.5 times more likely than white Americans to be killed by police. And black Americans are twice as likely as white Americans to be unemployed.

Many factors contribute to these disparities, including a lack of access to education and resources, discrimination in the workplace, and a history of racism and discrimination.

But the fact remains that racism is still a very real problem in America, and black Americans are still bearing the brunt of it.

Racism is still a problem in America, and black Americans are still disproportionately affected by it. Despite the progress made in recent years, racism is still a very real problem in our country. African Americans are still more likely to be stopped and searched by the police, sentenced to longer prison terms, and live in poverty.

This is not to say that all black Americans experience these things, but it is still a fact that racism is a very real problem in our country. To truly move forward as a nation, we must first acknowledge the problem and then work together to find a solution.

Why is black history still banned in America?

In America, black history is often relegated to a single month of celebration. While it is important to celebrate the accomplishments of black Americans, this limited focus does not allow for a comprehensive understanding of the role that black Americans have played in the history of the United States.

Black history is still banned in America because the history of the United States is still largely told from a white perspective.

This is evident in how American history is taught in schools, how mainstream media sources cover black history, and how monuments and statues are erected to honor white historical figures.

Banning black history in America perpetuates the idea that black Americans are lesser than their white counterparts. This is not only false, but it is also dangerous. It is time for black history to be given the attention it deserves so that all Americans can benefit

The tragic reality of black history in America today

Sadly, the history of black Americans is one of violence, oppression, and struggle. For centuries, blacks have been subjected to racism, slavery, and discrimination. Even today, black Americans face educational, employment, and income disparities.

The tragic reality of black history in America today is that it is often forgotten, misunderstood, and misrepresented. African American history is often taught as a series of important dates and events without any context or understanding of the lived experiences of black people in America.

This is the tragic reality of black history in America today.

But despite all the challenges, black Americans have made significant progress. We have overcome adversity to become strong and resilient people. And we will continue to fight for equality and justice for all.

This lack of knowledge leads to many misconceptions about black history, which in turn contributes to the systemic racism that continues to plague our country today.

We must learn and teach the true history of black America to better understand what it means to be black in America today. Only then can we begin to dismantle the racism that has been so deeply ingrained in our society for so many centuries.

We must speak out and demand that black history be taught in our schools. We need to show our elected officials that we will not tolerate a country that tries to erase our history.

Let them know we are proud of our black Heritage and will fight for it. If we don’t do something now, our children and grandchildren will never know the struggles and sacrifices that were made for them. We must show them that we are strong and will not give up.

The time is now. We have to stand up and be heard. We have to fight for what is right. We must let them know that we are proud of our black Heritage and will fight for it.

Conclusion

BLACK HISTORY

While it is understandable that people would want to protect their children from the struggles of other groups, banning books does not solve the problem. It only perpetuates the cycle of ignorance and discrimination.

To create a truly inclusive society, we must start by acknowledging the struggles of those different from us. The Minority

Additionally, banning books is a serious issue because it goes against the freedom of speech.

People should be able to read whatever they want, and books should not be banned because they highlight the struggles of a group of people who are different from you… the white people.

Chronic Stress Effects: My Personal Story!

Chronic Stress
Angry and exasperated employee. Office worker smashing a table bat. Vector illustration

Chronic stress is a common response to the demands of modern life. Guess what? I learned the hard way what being overly stressed out is and what it can do to your life!

On the positive side…it manifests as stress symptoms such as:

  •  nervousness,
  • irritability,
  • muscle tension,

And so on — it revs up every part of the body and mind to keep you alive and alert.

In the same way, the negative effects of chronic stress build slowly over time, and it starts to limit your ability to enjoy simple pleasures in life or find inner peace until it’s too late.

But don’t despair! You can integrate effective practices into your life to help you manage chronic stress more effectively.

Check out my strategies to help you get unstuck.

Stress level reduced with problem and pressure solving tiny persons concept. Tired from frustration employee in job vector illustration. Angry tension in business lifestyle. Emotional overload scene.

At first glance…Take time to self-reflect!

As noted earlier, I learned the hard way what being overly stressed out is and what it can do to your life

Well, that is a long, drawn-out story which is another story together. However, I will give you a summary.

I worked at the FBI, and if you don’t know, the jobs are highly stressed daily. Particularly the programs dealing with informants.

That said, I was Program Manager for the S-Visa Program, a U.S. nonimmigrant visa that allows persons who witnesses or informants to assist law enforcement and provide information about a criminal organization in the U.S.

It is otherwise known as the “Snitch” visa. This visa is temporary and does not permit permanent living in the U.S.

Anyway, during my time with the FBI, I encountered many obstacles along the way;

The backlog of S-visa requests from the FBI and other Federal Law Enforcement Agencies at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Immigration Services was the biggest source of my stress and a huge obstacle that wasn’t easy to overcome.

Some I could get around; others were a constant source of stress that hijacked my coping ability and overwhelmed me.

I was suffering from chronic stress, which prompted the fall, causing a traumatic brain injury. (TBI)

So, what I am leading up to was my contact with a carpeted concrete floor in 2008. 😭

Subtle woman’s form in an unhappy pose double exposed with a monochromatic paint splatter photographic effect

One day, I passed out, hitting the back of my head. 🗣

See…I was unaware of being stressed out until it was much too late. It’s now 2022…14 years later, and I’m disabled mentally.

What’s more, I’m not crazy mentally; my brain doesn’t always function properly!

So the first step in managing your stress is to learn to “unsee”👁 your stress.

When you’re feeling stressed,😤Focus on what you’re doing.

Keep tabs on your mental “forest.” When you notice that your mind has wandered far off into the bushes, gently but firmly pull your attention back to the task.

It’s hard to do when you’re stressed because you don’t want to admit that you feel overwhelmed or you don’t want to admit that you’re struggling.

🆗…I know because it once was me!

Therefore, If you can take a step back, you’ll be surprised at how much better the situation🔥 will look when you are not stressed.🤯

Chronicstress
Mindfulness – modern line design style web banner on white background with copy space for text. A composition with a businesswoman meditating at work, sitting at the laptop, trying to release stress

Equally important…exercise and daily mindfulness practices!

Moreover, I found a quick and easy way to quiet your mind and regain control over your attention?

  1. Take up a few low-key exercises — yoga, walking, breathing exercises, or something else that helps you quiet your mind.
  2. You need to take a break from the demands of work or school and acknowledge that you’re feeling stressed.
  3. Finding a few minutes to yourself every day to do some gentle, mind-quieting exercise is an easy, effective way to do this.

In the long run, it’s helpful if you’re stressed, over-tasked, and overwhelmed.

It may seem small, but it can be tremendously comforting and helpful to the stressed-out mind.

The next step …Don’t dwell on the past!

Chronic
Woman sitting on the floor and doing meditation at home, relaxation and mindfulness concept

But, at the same time, you might be thinking, how in the hell can you move forward when your past keeps invading your every thought?

How do you move away from demons that played a part in  your descent into the dark places of your mind?

To begin with, you must become keenly aware of your mind path, your pattern of thinking backward, into the dark abyss of past mistakes and misfortunes, which only compound the situation…making you more stressed and anxious.

To put it more simply…stressed-out minds are more focused on the got darn negative. So the more time you spend dwelling on the past, the more you feel stressed and anxious.

Reach for a relaxed state of mind by focusing on the present moment. Think happy thoughts.

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”

William James

Simply put…

Stop thinking about the past and consider what you can do to move forward!

And be sure to…have a conversation with yourself!

The best way to deal with stress is by talking yourself down from the high horse with a sense of humor.

By the way, this will make you feel less stressed!

However, it’s not easy, but telling your brain that it needs a break will make you feel better in no time!

“Stress acts as an accelerator: it will push you either forward or backward, but you choose which direction.”

Chelsea Erieau

What Is Chronic Stress…Fight or Flight! What I experienced:⬇️

  • Namely, stress is the body’s reaction to harmful real or perceived situations.
  • A chemical reaction in your body allows you to act to prevent injury when you feel threatened.
  • The stress response reaction: is known as “fight-or-flight.”
  • During the stress response, your heart rate increases, breathing quickens, muscles tighten, and blood pressure rises.
  •  You are ready to act. It is how you protect yourself.

Now, some people are better able to handle stress than others. And, also not all stress is bad.

It comes down to…small doses of stress can help you accomplish tasks and prevent you from getting hurt.

Also, stress makes you slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of you. That’s a good thing.

Wrapping it up!Chronic

Chronic stress is almost inevitable if you’re a highly-pressured, high-performing individual in today’s modern world.

On the contrary, many people struggle with it, but it doesn’t have to be a barrier to your happiness and success.

It’s important to recognize that you’re feeling stressed, take a few moments to check-in and collect yourself, and then reach for a few low-key stress-reducing techniques.

These will help you regain control over your attention and get back to enjoying life.🌹

It took years to learn how to control the stress and not allow it to control me!

The Conqueror: 1 Why You Should Never Give Up?

The Conqueror?
modern city skyline with interchange overpassThe Conquero, When you think that you are weak and can’t handle the challenges in life, think again. Think again when you don’t believe that you can succeed at something. When you feel like giving up, think again.

The Conqueror, You are not these things, and you are strong, capable, and courageous. You have the power to overcome all hardships and challenges. You have the power to conquer all fears. You have the power to change your life

The challenge you face is not the challenges themselves but believing in yourself and your abilities to overcome them. The conqueror you see within yourself is the key to succeeding in life.

You don’t have to let challenges, failures, or adversaries take away that conqueror. You can keep your faith, your hope, and your courage. Keep fighting and never give up. You are:

The conqueror of your difficulties.

The conqueror
Summer in the Dolomites

  • The winner of your challenges.
  • The shining star of your adversities.

What you can conquer in life

Many things in life are out of your control. What you can control, though, is how you react to them. It is important to realize that every situation has a way of working itself out if you allow it to do so with patience and calmness.

The most important thing in your life is your health. Protect it at all costs. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you are not healthy enough to provide for yourself, contact someone you trust.

It can be your parents, a relative, a friend, or a trusted associate. They will know how to find you a job, care for your needs, and make sure you are safe. And most importantly, they will make sure you eat.

What you can’t conquer in life

We all have fears, but it is important to realize that they are not reasons to let go of your dreams. So if you are afraid of flying, drive instead; if you are afraid of heights, then walk up to the edge because there is nothing you can’t do.

It is not what you fear but what you do about it that matters. Fear is the emotion that tells your body to stay in the state of fight or flight.

Fear is a survival instinct. It isn’t something to overcome, and it is something to recognize and then conquer with your actions

Once you realize that your fear is an emotion and not a fact, you can choose to do something else. You can choose not to let it hold you back from doing what you want to do in life.

The key ingredient to overcoming

You can overcome anything if you are willing to work for it. It doesn’t matter if your challenge is physical, such as lifting weights, or a mental one like learning to believe in yourself.

You can overcome all challenges if you are willing to work. You don’t have to find a challenge that is easy to overcome. You have to find challenges that are worthy of overcoming.

Challenges are nothing more than tests set up specifically to show you your weaknesses and strengths. If you don’t apply yourself, you will fail no matter what you are given.

Don’t let the voices of doubt tell you that you can’t

Most people let the voices of doubt tell them that they can’t do things. But it would be best if you told the voices that you can do whatever you want to do.

Your mind is powerful, and it is the doorway to your soul. So if you want to be something, tell your mind that you are that person. If you want to be successful, tell your mind that you are that person.

If you want to be loved, tell your mind that you are that person. You can tell your mind whatever you want it to be because it is a part of you.

Conclusion The conqueror

Life can be challenging. We are faced with many adversities and obstacles that seem so large and impossible that it is difficult to believe that we can overcome them.

The challenges and adversities that we face in life are designed to challenge and improve our character and abilities.

When we are faced with a challenge and feel that we cannot overcome it, we must not give up. We must find a way to overcome adversity and realize our full potential.

Life is a challenge, and the best way to overcome challenges is to be resilient, persevering, and push yourself to your limits. You can overcome anything if you are willing to work for it.

The conqueror REVIEW

There are many obstacles and challenges in life. They are designed to test our limits, strengths, and weaknesses. When we feel weak, scared, or overwhelmed by a challenge, we can look within ourselves and realize that we can overcome it.

A man may conquer a million men in battle but one who conquers himself is, indeed, the greatest of conquerors.

If you feel weak and defeated during a challenge, you must look within yourself and realize that you can overcome it.

The Voice In Your Head Is A Unique Entity2!
