Why Goodness Comes From the Heart!

Goodness comes from the heart
Heart on fire

Goodness comes from the heart…and the world is full of good people. In contrast, we know at least one person with a good heart.

However…

Sadly, the problem is that good people don’t always behave in a good way.

That said, some are selfish, some are rude, and many more are just damn unkind for no good reason.

 And this leaves us wondering:

Why? How can those who do so much good on the whole—who give to charity, help others, and care for others—be so bad 👿when it comes to smaller things?

The idiom best expresses this problem: “Actions speak louder than words. It seems that society has lost sight of what matters most in life and has become preoccupied with appearances, images, and status symbols.

We have all been victims of false kindness and disingenuous words that don’t align with our actions.

The questions to be answered are:

  • Why does this happen?
  •  What makes us behave in ways that don’t align with our actions?
  • Why do good people sometimes act unkindly
  • And perhaps most importantly: What can we do about it?

What is the problem with most of our society?

As our world becomes increasingly globalized, different cultures interact and influence one another, which can be wonderful.

Still, we must be aware of each other’s strengths and weaknesses to learn from each other without being negatively affected.

Also,

Western culture has given us many positive and enriching things—democracy, the rule of law, and respect for the individual—which has given rise to a society that is excessively focused on power, self-interest, and selfish gain.

Moreover,

We have become a society that is excessively focused on what is seen rather than unseen

In other words, we are so focused on the material things in life (status, appearances, financial gain, etc.) that we tend to ignore the things that make life truly worthwhile—such as love, kindness, and generosity.

Goodness
Dollars and heart

The reasons why good people behave badly?

People behave badly 🧛‍♂️because they’re unaware of their words and actions’ power.

They fail to connect what happens in one moment and how it later affects other aspects such as emotions or relationships.

Unpredictable mood swings caused by excessive pride might make you do things that aren’t nice so that others won’t see your errors.

Afterward, their unkindness would cause more harm than good for those who know better but choose ignorance over responsibility.

The power of the heart…❤️

Ultimately, there is something magical and mysterious about the heart. It is the source of all goodness, kindness, and love.

It is also the seat of our deepest wisdom and has the power to move us to greatness and inspire us to be our best selves.

 Yet,

It is also the seat of our deepest fears and anxieties; it is what makes us feel things deeply and passionately. 🫂

The heart holds our truest, deepest, and most genuine feelings and emotions.

🧠It is the place within us where our souls connect to our bodies and a place within us where we feel our deepest joy and sorrow. 😭

After all, the heart is what makes us human!!!

How to stop being bad and start being good again!

There are two ways we can change our behavior: we can change our thoughts or our actions.

If you make a mistake and find yourself behaving unkindly, then all you have to do is think of something or someone else.

 In other words,

if you behave unkindly, refocus your attention on someone else. Do something good for someone else, or help someone else in any way you can.

When you find yourself unkind, ask yourself why. Ask yourself what you are feeling and why you feel that way.

Make a conscious effort to change your behavior and actions, and ask for help if needed.

Goodness comes from the heartHeart
Heart

Conclusion

Goodness comes from the heart. It doesn’t come from what we do or from how we appear. It comes from the place deep inside us where we feel things the most profoundly.

The world is full of good people who want to do good things and be good people.

It comes down to one thing: the intention with which we do things. We can choose to do good things for the wrong reasons (e.g., to make ourselves look good), but that doesn’t make it good.

Whatever you do, do it to do good. Whatever you say, say it intends to do good.

Finally, whatever you think, think it to do good. And whatever you feel, feel it to do good. That’s all that matters in the long run, and goodness will follow.

Chronic Stress Effects: My Personal Story!

Chronic Stress
Angry and exasperated employee. Office worker smashing a table bat. Vector illustration

Chronic stress is a common response to the demands of modern life. Guess what? I learned the hard way what being overly stressed out is and what it can do to your life!

On the positive side…it manifests as stress symptoms such as:

  •  nervousness,
  • irritability,
  • muscle tension,

And so on — it revs up every part of the body and mind to keep you alive and alert.

In the same way, the negative effects of chronic stress build slowly over time, and it starts to limit your ability to enjoy simple pleasures in life or find inner peace until it’s too late.

But don’t despair! You can integrate effective practices into your life to help you manage chronic stress more effectively.

Check out my strategies to help you get unstuck.

At first glance…Take time to self-reflect!

As noted earlier, I learned the hard way what being overly stressed out is and what it can do to your life

Well, that is a long, drawn-out story which is another story together. However, I will give you a summary.

I worked at the FBI, and if you don’t know, the jobs are highly stressed daily. Particularly the programs dealing with informants.

That said, I was Program Manager for the S-Visa Program, a U.S. nonimmigrant visa that allows persons who witnesses or informants to assist law enforcement and provide information about a criminal organization in the U.S.

It is otherwise known as the “Snitch” visa. This visa is temporary and does not permit permanent living in the U.S.

Anyway, during my time with the FBI, I encountered many obstacles along the way;

The backlog of S-visa requests from the FBI and other Federal Law Enforcement Agencies at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Immigration Services was the biggest source of my stress and a huge obstacle that wasn’t easy to overcome.

Some I could get around; others were a constant source of stress that hijacked my coping ability and overwhelmed me.

I was suffering from chronic stress, which prompted the fall, causing a traumatic brain injury. (TBI)

So, what I am leading up to was my contact with a carpeted concrete floor in 2008. 😭

Subtle woman’s form in an unhappy pose double exposed with a monochromatic paint splatter photographic effect

One day, I passed out, hitting the back of my head. 🗣

See…I was unaware of being stressed out until it was much too late. It’s now 2022…14 years later, and I’m disabled mentally.

What’s more, I’m not crazy mentally; my brain doesn’t always function properly!

So the first step in managing your stress is to learn to “unsee”👁 your stress.

When you’re feeling stressed,😤Focus on what you’re doing.

Keep tabs on your mental “forest.” When you notice that your mind has wandered far off into the bushes, gently but firmly pull your attention back to the task.

It’s hard to do when you’re stressed because you don’t want to admit that you feel overwhelmed or you don’t want to admit that you’re struggling.

🆗…I know because it once was me!

Therefore, If you can take a step back, you’ll be surprised at how much better the situation🔥 will look when you are not stressed.🤯

Chronicstress

Equally important…exercise and daily mindfulness practices!

Moreover, I found a quick and easy way to quiet your mind and regain control over your attention?

  1. Take up a few low-key exercises — yoga, walking, breathing exercises, or something else that helps you quiet your mind.
  2. You need to take a break from the demands of work or school and acknowledge that you’re feeling stressed.
  3. Finding a few minutes to yourself every day to do some gentle, mind-quieting exercise is an easy, effective way to do this.

In the long run, it’s helpful if you’re stressed, over-tasked, and overwhelmed.

It may seem small, but it can be tremendously comforting and helpful to the stressed-out mind.

The next step …Don’t dwell on the past!

Chronic

But, at the same time, you might be thinking, how in the hell can you move forward when your past keeps invading your every thought?

How do you move away from demons that played a part in  your descent into the dark places of your mind?

To begin with, you must become keenly aware of your mind path, your pattern of thinking backward, into the dark abyss of past mistakes and misfortunes, which only compound the situation…making you more stressed and anxious.

To put it more simply…stressed-out minds are more focused on the got darn negative. So the more time you spend dwelling on the past, the more you feel stressed and anxious.

Reach for a relaxed state of mind by focusing on the present moment. Think happy thoughts.

The greatest weapon against stress is our ability to choose one thought over another.”

William James

Simply put…

Stop thinking about the past and consider what you can do to move forward!

And be sure to…have a conversation with yourself!

The best way to deal with stress is by talking yourself down from the high horse with a sense of humor.

By the way, this will make you feel less stressed!

However, it’s not easy, but telling your brain that it needs a break will make you feel better in no time!

“Stress acts as an accelerator: it will push you either forward or backward, but you choose which direction.”

Chelsea Erieau

What Is Chronic Stress…Fight or Flight! What I experienced:⬇️

  • Namely, stress is the body’s reaction to harmful real or perceived situations.
  • A chemical reaction in your body allows you to act to prevent injury when you feel threatened.
  • The stress response reaction: is known as “fight-or-flight.”
  • During the stress response, your heart rate increases, breathing quickens, muscles tighten, and blood pressure rises.
  •  You are ready to act. It is how you protect yourself.

Now, some people are better able to handle stress than others. And, also not all stress is bad.

It comes down to…small doses of stress can help you accomplish tasks and prevent you from getting hurt.

Also, stress makes you slam on the brakes to avoid hitting the car in front of you. That’s a good thing.

Wrapping it up!Chronic

Chronic stress is almost inevitable if you’re a highly-pressured, high-performing individual in today’s modern world.

On the contrary, many people struggle with it, but it doesn’t have to be a barrier to your happiness and success.

It’s important to recognize that you’re feeling stressed, take a few moments to check-in and collect yourself, and then reach for a few low-key stress-reducing techniques.

These will help you regain control over your attention and get back to enjoying life.🌹

It took years to learn how to control the stress and not allow it to control me!

You Are Good Enough: Master the Art of Being True To You!

You are good enough
You are good enough

You are good enough…with so much negativity and hateful rhetoric in the world today, it’s easy to feel like you don’t measure up.

Let me ask you a question, have you ever felt like you just weren’t good enough

In any case,

you don’t need to feel like you’re not good enough because, in reality, you are better than most; hell, you don’t realize it and…

To clarify, almost everyone experiences it at some point in lifeSelf-doubt is a natural part of being human and can creep up on anyone.

However…

learning to recognize and confront these negative thoughts head-on is the first step toward becoming the person you aspire to be.

Anyhow…

That’s where this blog post comes in: While it might feel like there isn’t enough love in the world right now, that’s not true.

You are worthy of love; you must find ways to see that truth and embrace it yourself.

You Are good Enough

Why You Are Good Enough: What Does It Mean?

When you feel like you aren’t enough, you’re comparing yourself to others and imagining that you don’t measure up to their perceived standards.

Meanwhile, this feeling usually stems from comparing your “ideal self” to your “real self” and then feeling like your current situation doesn’t align with your expectations.

Truth be told, when you don’t feel like you are enough, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking that you need to become someone better to feel worthy of love and happiness.

Many people have found the perfect balance between work/play while still staying true to themselves. So can you!

Why Are You Good Enough?

You may be surprised to learn that there is no such thing as “enough.” The fact is that there is no one-size-fits-all standard of success or worthiness.

In like manner, what one person considers “enough” could be different for someone else.

So instead of striving to reach a goal that doesn’t exist, try learning to be at peace with who you are.

 Track your negative thoughts:

Keep a journal and write down negative self-talk you experience throughout the day.

2 More Strategies To Build Your Self-Esteem!

Focus on your strengths: People with high self-esteem tend to focus on their strengths rather than their shortcomings.

Surround yourself with positive peopleNegative people can drain your energy and make you feel like you don’t measure up.

Bottom line

If you ever feel like you aren’t enough, remember that there is no one-size-fits-all standard of success or worthiness.

Instead, focus on your strengths and building your self-esteem.

After all, the world needs more love, not more hate and divisiveness.

During these challenging times, we must remember that we are all human and share the same commonalities.🌹

Embrace aging

Embrace Aging: Why You Should Embrace It!

Embracing aging
Senior couple watching old photographs at home

Embrace aging…we all want to live as long and healthy as possible, but why?  The reality is that aging doesn’t come with any guarantees.

In any case, it’s not something bad or wrong; it just happens – which can make this process feel like one big lottery game…where you’re trying your best and still have no control over what will happen next!

In order words: don’t let society dictate how old YOU think yourself should be because there are plenty more important things than keeping up appearances (like spending time doing activities.

You should embrace aging; the following are four reasons why you should embrace it:

Losing independence is not always a bad thing.

According to Social Security, one in three Americans are expected to survive into old age

Whether you’re living on your own or with a senior partner/ roommate – it’s important that we take care not just for ourselves but also for those who will soon follow suit as they grow independent!

It seems many seniors wish this time were different; free from all obligations- both personal and professional…

But the truth is no matter what stage of life has brought us; there should always be an element of connectedness present, which means allowing oneself to rely upon others occasionally.

You’ve already mastered some of your greatest skills.

As we grow older, it seems like our childhood selves are starting to take over.

We might be more awkward in social situations and less productive than before – but these traits make us better versions of ourselves!

When you’re young, there’s no room for failure because everything can go wrong all at once; when life hits middle age, though (or even early 20s), those mishaps start happening fewer times until they finally disappear entirely.

Over time, it becomes easier to forget how much you’ve already mastered.

But this life-changing knowledge should make us feel more confident in our abilities because we know that whatever challenge or skill deficiency there may have been won’t last forever!

In addition, the skills you’ve mastered in the past can also help you get through life’s challenges.

It can be a time to reconnect with what matters most.

We all grow old, but we’ve got the power to stay young at heart by reconnecting with our past.

And one of the best ways is to get nostalgic and look back on what brought you joy when you were younger–

Those activities made your child smile or gave him a sense of accomplishment from doing them well.

You’ll gain wisdom you wouldn’t have gained otherwise.

I could wax philosophical about life and its lessons, but I won’t.

Instead, let’s get down to brass tacks: what have you learned from your time on Earth?

What are some things that makeup who we are as beings living through an experience-filled lifetime like ours!

It may be cliche at this point in our lives–and maybe even impossible given how much has happened already—but think back over every momentary memory or insight gained since birth until now; consider everything before answering the question…

The process is often called “soul searching,” – and it can help you gain wisdom that can help you in the future.

Bottom line

Grow up! Aging is not a disease; you’re never too old to have fun. Our minds change as we age- some people experience improved cognitive function while others lose their memories or become more forgetful;

There’s no one way to feel good about yourself through this life because each person has different priorities when facing difficulties on the road towards old age.

Actions….Put Into Words 2!

Actions  speak…I plan to start this blog post by asking you: Who do you think has more credibility?

  1. A person who speaks with conviction and is passionate about their beliefs,
  2. Or someone whose words don’t mean anything?

Okay…I’ll tell you what I think.

It’s a simple fact: actions speak louder than words.

In my experience, if someone is confident enough in what they believe in taking action, the words they speak are less relevant.

This is because their efforts have proven that they sincerely believe in what they say.

In this blog post, I’d like to explore the idea of actions speaking louder than words and how we can use them to influence people’s perceptions of us.

For instance, if you are thinking about what to say or do next in your relationship, it may be time to stop and think about the actions you are taking before speaking.

Actions…Why?

How often have you spoken out of term and regretted the words that escaped through your lips? Actions speak louder than words because they show us who we are at our core.

When people communicate through their actions instead of words, they learn more about themselves and each other.

Because they don’t get caught up in any misunderstandings or miscommunications when talking things out.

Moreover, it means if you want to connect with a loved one on a deeper level, start by noticing what is positive and right in your relationship.

This way, you won’t focus on all the negatives.

It’s no secret that nonverbal communication is a powerful part of human interaction.

In fact, there is no substitute for the ability of a smile, a nod, or even silence to convey emotion and meaning. There is an old saying that “actions speak louder than words,” but what does it actually mean?

Actions…Essentially,

We communicate with others all the time without saying a word.

The most straightforward actions, such as touching one’s phone, convey the message we communicate.

Meanwhile, we simply express our thoughts and feelings to others and ourselves, such as touching ourselves while we speak on the phone.

It is a sign that someone is paying attention when they lean back when they hear someone speak.

Crossing arms when asking for help is another indication.

Most importantly…it takes courage to put your all into loving someone else, but what better reward is there?

You can tell how much people value others by the lengths they go through to make sure those around them feel loved and cared for.

 This applies both ways:

If we want our loved ones to be happy and content, we should do everything we can to do it.

There’s no better way to say “I love you” than by being there for someone in their time of need or celebrating as hard as they want on their big day.

Conclusion

In fact, we communicate in various ways, and some people might think the words they speak are louder than their actions, but to ignore the impact of body language would be foolish.

I’ve learned that when you want someone’s attention, you can’t rely on what they hear from your mouth but rather the way you act.
