Why I’m Pro-ChOICE…
The abortion debate has been at the forefront of American politics for decades.
The main arguments made by both sides of the debate are about whether or not a woman has a right to choose what to do with her own body; and if abortion is murder.
I am pro-choice because I believe that a woman has the right to choose what to do with her own body.
The decision to have an abortion is personal and should be made by the woman, with input from her family and doctor.
That said…the abortion debate is likely to continue for many years to come. I hope the debate will be settled someday, and we can all move forward with our lives.
What is the pro-choice movement?
- The pro-choice movement is a socio-political movement dedicated to keeping abortion legal and accessible for all women.
- The movement is primarily composed of individuals and organizations who believe that women should have the freedom to make their own choices about reproductive health and child-bearing without interference from the government or society.
- The pro-choice movement is strongly committed to defending a woman’s legal right to an abortion, highlighting the importance of access to safe, legal abortions, and advancing other reproductive human rights.
- And… it also challenges societal attitudes and prejudices restricting women’s reproductive freedom.
- As well as, supports policies and laws that protect, empower and prioritize women’s basic rights for full autonomy and freedom over their bodies.
As a woman and a feminist, I strongly believe that the right to choose is a fundamental human right that should apply to all women regardless of race, nationality, gender identity, class, or other demographics Allowing women the autonomy and freedom to make their own choices about their bodies and health is vital for their safety, security, and mental well-being.
I strongly feel that women should have the right to choose regarding their reproductive health and medical decisions about their bodies. The right to choose should not be denied or restricted because of somebody else’s beliefs, opinions, or prejudices
The pro-choice movement is about more than just abortion!
The pro-choice movement is far more than just about abortion. It is about anything that comes with making decisions about women’s bodies.
This includes their reproductive health and other medical decisions. It is about not allowing others to interfere with women’s independence and freedom.
Additionally…the pro-choice movement is about forming a balanced and just society that includes equality for all genders and equal opportunities for women.
Case in point…the pro-choice movement is about enabling women to make their own decisions without the pressure of society pushing them into uncomfortable positions and circumstances.
It is about ending the stigma associated with abortion and other reproductive decisions, making sure women are treated justly and not discriminated against because of their decisions.
