Month: December 2021

The End of Year Right Around the Corner…!

With the end-of-year approaching and a new one beginning, it’s time to reflect on what has happened and what we hope to accomplish in the months to come.THE END OF YEAR

Some of you may have set resolutions and goals for the new year.

Are you someone who makes resolutions at the start of every year?

If so, how many times have you kept them?

Even though breaking old habits and changing to new ones can be challenging, it’s not impossible.

It’s something I’m doing right now.

However, we need to clear out the old stuff first, both physically and mentally.

It’s always exciting to start fresh with a blank page, and the New Year is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

And So say…END OF YEAR

Goodbye to 2021 and hello to 2022!

An empty page just waiting for your dreams and aspirations awaits you as you embark on a new adventure.

It’s always exciting to start fresh with a blank page, and the New Year is the perfect opportunity to do just that.

As the old year fades away and a fresh one begins, it’s the perfect time to reflect on what you want to achieve in the coming months.

So let’s decide what we want to accomplish in 2022, whether it’s a change in our careers or personal lives.

My life is a journey of letting go of things that no longer serve me and finding new opportunities.

Are you with me? Let’s do this together!

Here are some Classic Poems for the New Year you might find interesting.

There are many poems about the new year written by diverse writers.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox, “The Year” (1910)

Ella Wheeler Wilcox’s “The Year” is a perfect New Year’s Eve poem we should memorize.

This song is short and rhythmic, capturing our feelings and time passing.

What we can say in New Year rhymes,

That’s not been said a thousand times?

The new years come, the old years go,

We know we dream; we dream, we know.

We rise laughing with the light,

We lie down weeping with the night.

We hug the world until it stings,

We cursed it then and sighed for wings.

We live, we love, we woo, we wed,

We wreathe our brides; we sheet our dead.

We laugh, weep; we hope, we fear,

And that’s the burden of the year.

Helen Hunt Jackson, “New Year’s Morning” (1892)

Helen Hunt Jackson’s poem, “New Year’s Morning,” discusses how each morning can be New Year’s since it’s only one night.

It ends with: “This is a wonderful piece of inspirational prose.”

Only a night from old to new;

Only a sleep from night to morn.

The new is but the old come true;

Each sunrise sees a new year born.

Alfred, Lord Tennyson, “The Death of the Old Year” (1842)

The first stanza ends with four poignant lines:

Old year, you must not die;

You came to us so readily,

You lived with us so steadily,

Old year, you shall not die.

Auld Lang Syne…By Robert Burns

Auld Lang Syne was written by Burns in 1788, but it was not published until shortly after his death in 1796.

Should auld acquaintance 8be forgot,

and never brought to mind?

Should auld acquaintance be forgot,

and auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my jo,

for auld lang syne,

we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

And surely ye’ll be your pint-stoup!

and surely I’ll be mine!

And we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,

for auld lang syne,

we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes,

and pou’d the gowans fine;

But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fit,

sin’ auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,

for auld lang syne,

we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl’d in the burn,

frae morning sun till dine;

But seas between us braid hae roar’d

sin’ auld lang syne.

For auld lang syne, my jo,

for auld lang syne,

we’ll tak’ a cup o’ kindness yet,

for auld lang syne.

And there’s a hand,

my trusty fiere!

And gie’s a hand o’ thine!

And we’ll tak’ a right gude-willie waught,

for auld lang syne.

My best wishes for a prosperous new year despite the challenges you face. Although we wish things were different, we hope we can visit you.

We hope that the new year brings your family much happiness and prosperity and that in time the world will be a safe place again.

Take care of yourselves and see you on Zoom soon!

CHARLES B…ANGEL IN HEAVEN!

CHARLES

Today is a special day because it is my brother Charles’ birthday in Heaven!

Our hearts ache for him, but we know he’s up there having the time of his life.

Several months have passed since you left us, Charles. May 11, 2021, to be exact.

During that time, a lot has happened, and I know you would have enjoyed taking part in it all.

For example, your eldest son graduated from high school a week after you passed away. I’m sure you were so proud.

I know you were watching from up above, and I hope you were pleased with what you saw.

That said…

Your youngest daughter had twins, making three grandchildren for you.

They are some beautiful children, and we ensure they know who you are.

Also, they will remember you as the kindest and generous individual you were in life.

And…

Charles, you were an incredible person who brought joy to everyone around you, and your memory will continue to live on within our hearts.

We miss you dearly!

Although we won’t be celebrating your birthday in person;

We will commemorate you in spirit and remember all the amazing moments shared with us.

Namely, your singing!

Thinking back, I’m optimistic that today would have been a day full of fun and joyful things!

Because you were the one that always had a smile on your face and rarely got angry, everybody just took to you!

Like the women you said, they just loved everything about you.

Nevertheless,

God took you too soon; we will never see your smile or hear your voice again.

Physically, you are not here in the world anymore, but I can feel your presence every moment.

Unlike other family members, you are not resting in a grave with a headstone.

Your ashes have been sitting on top of a cabinet in my home…since your cremation;

So you are never far away.

Your spirit has gone to Heaven, leaving a massive void in our lives.

In any case, I hope God gives you everything you desire on your birthday.

Emphatically My beloved brother…

Always and forever, I will never forget you and always keep you in the center of my heart.

You went away so suddenly we did not say goodbye – But brothers can’t be parted precious memories never die. –

You gave me a brother; you taught me to dream – You gave me a brother; you made us a team.

You gave me a brother. You taught me to smile – You gave me a brother for such a short while.

You gave me a brother you taught me to treasure – You gave me a brother whose love I couldn’t measure.

Christmastime…Let Love And Happiness Fill Your Heart2!

christmastimeChristmastime… It is the Ghost of Christmas Past, and he takes Scrooge to the previous Christmases of his life.

Christmas is considered one of the most significant holidays in the world.

If you’re unsure what to get that person who has everything or wants nothing;

Find the perfect gift with these ideas.

QUOTE BY UNKNOWN

Perhaps the best Yuletide decoration is being wreathed in smiles.

QUOTE BY HELEN STEINER RICE

Love changes darkness into light and makes the heart take a wingless flight.

Christmas is a season of joy and celebration.

christmastime

The holiday season is upon us once again, and you’re sipping eggnog and watching the snowfall outside or not.

But for those who have lost loved ones, it can be a painful reminder of the empty spaces they’ll never fill again.

The Ghost of Christmas Past will show you all the moments that make this holiday so unique – and also the pain that comes with losing someone you love.

QUOTE BY PATRICIA CLIFFORD

Christmas is a time to expand our giving, encompassing the friendless and needy… near and far.

Christmastime  is sharing.

christmastimeWe can stay close to our departed loved ones during the holidays by remembering their favorite things about Christmas;

Or what made them laugh or smile in life rather than what makes us sad now.

We may not be able to bring back those we’ve lost, but we can honor them by living as if there’s still hope for tomorrow.

QUOTE BY FULTON SHEEN

The simple shepherds heard the voice of an angel and found their Lamb;

The wise men saw the light of a star and found their Wisdom.

And so, Christmastime…

It’s also the season for making memories with friends and family.

What better way to do this than by telling some ghost stories?

If you’re looking for a good story, then keep reading!

I’ll share with you my favorite ones from childhood:

“The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” “A Christmas Carol,” and “The Legend of The Headless Horseman.”

These are all great reads, but they can be scary, so don’t read them alone at night!

Christmas is…

We celebrate a holiday not as individuals or as a nation but as a human family. Ronald Reagan

QUOTE BY HELEN STEINER RICE

Peace on earth will come to stay when we live Christmas every day.

CHRISTMASTIME

QUOTE BY J. C. PENNEY

We should make the Yuletide season an occasion not merely for the giving of material things but an occasion for the giving of that which counts infinitely more? the giving of self.

QUOTE BY DR. SEUSS

And the Grinch, with his Grinch-feet ice cold in the snow, stood puzzling and CHRISTMASTIMEpuzzling. How could it be so?

 It came without ribbons.

It came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.

And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.

Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.

What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store?

What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little more?

Conclusion:

The thought of Christmas being something that you can buy… is not new.

But what if it’s time for us to change our perspective on the holiday season?

What if, instead of focusing solely on gifts and material things, we took some time to reflect on all the good nuggets from 2021 and focus more on family-oriented traditions?

Happy holidays everyone!christmastime

Feel a Little Bit of Inspiration2

Feel …When you face difficulties, it means you arefeel embarking on a new journey.
Never lose hope and keep going.
feel“A positive attitude generates a beautiful day, which then develops into a stunning month, which then turns into a life-changing year, which then becomes a wonderful life.”

When you want to make your life feel better and your thoughts more positive…

Remember, The grass is greener where you water it.”

When you want to take control of your life and make the most of everything around you…

Feel…Wherever life plants you, bloom with grace.”

If you want to live life to the fullest and make the most of everything around you…

Don’t be afraid to embrace life wherever it plants you.

“Don’t let what others think and expect influence your decisions.”.

Although positive thinking has many benefits, finding optimism 24 hours a day is a challenge.

Life, work, and relationships can be stressful.

To keep the flame of positivity burning inside of yourself, it’s sometimes a good idea to look outside for motivation.

Brain-child

This is your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy.

Don’t let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are.

If you let others tell you who you are, you live their reality — not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people.

Love is much more to life than following others’ prescribed paths. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now.

You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure.”

Roy T. Bennett

Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful; for beauty is God’s handwriting on a wayside sacrament. Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every fair flower, and thank God for it as a cup of blessing. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Openly Racist…6 PLUS ON THE HILL

Openly racistOpenly Racist…there are at least six openly racist members of Congress in an office on Capitol Hill, and more are waiting for the opportunity to join them.

Donald Trump provided the bumbling idiots with a platform to spread their ignorance and dangerous racist ideology.

That’s why they do what they do today.

As a result, the Republicans are trying to reverse and dismantle everything achieved in the sixties.

Namely…

Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) was the nation’s most prominent leader in the 20th-century struggle for civil rights.

https://www.nps.gov/subjects/civilrights/martin-luther-king.htm

Dr. King organized a year-long bus boycott during this period.

During the Montgomery Movement, the city’s buses were integrated, and a nonviolent protest movement spread across the United States.

Rosa Parks was arrested in 1955, the year I was born, for refusing to move to the back of a bus in Montgomery, Alabama.

Ultimately,

Dr. King was arrested 30 times for his participation in civil rights activities.

He was instrumental in organizing the Selma to Montgomery marches in 1965.

While working tirelessly to ensure the passage of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, he was present when President Johnson signed both that act and the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

He expanded his focus to include poverty and the Vietnam War in the final years.

If it weren’t for the brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way, integration would not have happened.

Simultaneously…Openly Racist

Parents, relatives, and friends with deeply ingrained character flaws who are unhappy teach racism in their homes.

Instead of dealing with their internal issues, they want to dislike anyone with melanin in the skin…

So, racism spreads like a virus, for instance, COVID. A person who is close to a carrier will probably become infected.

Thus, if a child is born into any family, white, black, or otherwise, and hears someone consistently belittle, degrade, or show contempt for any other race…that child will become like the adults in their family.

How a child learns is influenced by what they have lived. (OPENLY RACIST)

Although, the family dynamics are very different today than in yesteryears. There is much to be done.
